Lake Barrine National Park

A short 15 minutes drive from Yungaburra on the Gillies Highway has you at Lake Barrine where you will come across a beautiful, enchanting natural lake hidden in World Heritage Rainforest.  Lake Barrine is something special as it is actually a water filled crater left by a volcanic eruption approximately 10,000 years ago.Whether you’re interested in a fully guided boat tour of the lake and its creatures, a swim in the freshwater lake, a walk around the lake in the lush rainforest or a quick snack at the lakeside teahouse amongst beautiful terraced gardens; Lake Barrine offers one of the most beautiful and relaxing environments in the tropics.

Lake Barrine Rainforest and Wildlife Cruise

Lake Barrine is world famous for it’s unique informative relaxing rainforest & wildlife cruises around the volcanic crater brim. The 45-minute cruise provides a close-up view of one of the most complex and amazing rainforest eco-systems in the world. Giving a different perspective from the 5km walking track as you will view the unique heritage listed rainforest from the pristine lake shore.

The 45 minute Rainforest and Wildlife Cruise operates daily with the first cruise at 9.30am. Coach and large group bookings are easily catered for with discount rates available upon request.
